Agropolis

The publication AGROPOLIS, from pilot project to metropolitan food network summarizes 6 years of BoerenBruxselPaysans and looks towards the future.

BoerenBruxselPaysans, a leading project for the transition towards sustainable food in Brussels intent on making projects flourish that produce, process and distribute local, healthy and quality food with short chain accessibilty for all the inhabitants of Brussels, was created in 2015 and it will come to an end in 2021 (op een paar investeringen na die doorlopen tot in 2023).

The publication AGROPOLIS is concrete outcome of intense dialogue and debate that took place in 2020, focusing on the key questions emerging from the experience in the field of BoerenBruxselPaysans and the research conducted by Metrolab Brussels, two projects supported by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).

This document, the result of a collective forward-looking campaign, is intended for all those who manage the territories on a daily basis, and for steering public policy in the Brussels metropolitan area in particular. It summarises discussions throughout the cycle, identifies concrete action plans and makes recommendations for the structural deployment of agroecology across regions referred to as the metropolitan food basin.
